Our Vision and Mission

Vision: To harness the power of collaboration to prevent heart disease and stroke.

Mission: To lead and encourage collaborative action among stakeholders committed to heart disease and stroke prevention

To achieve our mission and vision, the National Forum focuses on advancing health equity and the implementation of the ABCS  (appropriate Aspirin Use, Blood pressure, Cholesterol control, and Smoking cessation) to prevent heart disease and stroke. We define health equity as "attainment of the highest level of health for all people" and recognize that achieving health equity requires valuing everyone equally with focused and ongoing societal efforts to address avoidable inequalities, historical and contemporary injustices, and the elimination of health and health care disparities.

Why Join the National Forum

As a member of the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention, our members have the opportunity to work with us, our members and our partners to advance solutions that improve heart health at the community, state and national levels. More specifically, our members can work with us to:

  • Serve as a complementary player to develop and lead initiatives targeted at specific cardiovascular diseases and their risk factors.
  • Amplify and enhance the impact of their heart-healthy programs, practices and policies.

Members of the National Forum have shaped and continue to shape the Stronger Hearts Helpline, our World Heart Day Challenge and our Cholesterol Initiative. Our members may also have the opportunity to enhance our upcoming medication adherence initiative with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which will be the first of its kind for the agency.

Advance heart-healthy solutions at the local, state and federal level! Join the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention today!
