Rod leads the cardiovascular metabolic therapeutic area and is responsible for the strategic direction, including selling strategy and performance of the cardiovascular and diabetes business units.
Most recently, Rod served as Vice President, Oral Anti-Diabetic Drugs in Global Product and Portfolio Strategy (GPPS), where he led the commercial strategy and alignment across all marketing companies for key brands within our diabetes portfolio.
Rod has over 14 years of experience in various roles at AstraZeneca where he has brought a strong blend of leadership in business, sales, and clinical experience in both the pharmaceutical and managed markets sectors of the healthcare industry. This includes the role of Executive Director, CV Lipids Franchise; and National Sales Director, Cardiovascular sales force, both within the US organization.
Rod began his career at AdvancePCS, which at the time was the nation’s largest prescription drug benefit manager, where he spent 8 years developing a broad range of managed markets experience in building new products and services to meet the needs of health plans, employers, government programs and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
